What Retrixus is
Retrixus lets you ask questions about your Recurly billing data in plain English, from Claude or ChatGPT.
Retrixus connects your Recurly account to an AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, or one you have built yourself — so you can ask questions about your billing data in plain English and get answers from the live system. "What did this customer pay us last year?" "Which subscriptions are past due?" "Show me the invoices for this email address." No exports, no spreadsheets, no waiting for someone with dashboard access to look it up for you.
What you need
- A Recurly account, and permission to create an API key in it.
- An AI assistant that supports connectors: Claude, ChatGPT, or Claude Code.
- About ten minutes.
You do not need to be technical. You do not need to write any code. The quickstart walks through every screen.
What it can do today
Read your billing data and answer questions about it. Accounts, subscriptions, invoices, transactions, and credits — looked up live, in the conversation, whichever assistant you prefer.
Tell you when something looks wrong. Watches keep an eye on signups, declines, fraud blocks, refunds, cancellations and failed renewals, and email you or post to Slack when the numbers cross the line you set.
Make changes, inside your rules. On a site you have switched to read and write, refunds and cancels, one at a time or for a whole group of accounts, are always shown to you first, checked against your refund rules, and done only when you say yes. Anything over a limit goes to someone who can approve it. See Read-only and read-write.
That order is deliberate. The first thing a billing tool has to earn is the confidence that it will not break your billing, so every site starts read-only.
What happens to your data
Your Recurly API key is stored in Google Secret Manager, never in a database, never in a log, and never in an error message. It is fetched fresh each time a question is asked and used to call Recurly directly.
Retrixus does not keep copies of your customer data. Answers are read from Recurly at the moment you ask and passed to your assistant. What is recorded is a log of who asked what, and when — an audit trail you can read, and one that cannot be edited or deleted by anyone, including us.
Card numbers never appear anywhere. Recurly does not return them, and there is nowhere in Retrixus they could be stored.
