Connect Retrixus to Claude

Add Retrixus as a custom connector in Claude, sign in with Google, and ask your first question. Five minutes, one URL, and no keys to copy.

Once this is done, you can ask Claude about your Recurly data in plain English and it will go and look. It takes about five minutes and you will not have to copy any keys around.

You need two things: a Claude account, and an invitation to your organisation's Retrixus. If somebody sent you here, you almost certainly have both.

Step 1 — Open the connector settings

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.

Look for the option to add a custom connector. Claude has a directory of ready-made connectors too; Retrixus is not in it, which is why you are adding it by hand.

Step 2 — Give it the Retrixus address

There is one field that matters. Paste this into it:

https://api.retrixus.com/mcp

That is the whole address. It is the same for every organisation — Retrixus works out who you are when you sign in, not from the URL.

Step 3 — Sign in

Claude will send you to a Retrixus sign-in page. Sign in with the Google account you were invited with.

If you see "we don't recognise that account", it means the email you signed in with is not on your organisation's list yet. Ask whoever set up Retrixus to invite you — it takes them a moment, and there is nothing you can do from your side.

Approve it, and Claude will take you back to the settings page.

Step 4 — Check it worked

The connector should now be listed, and Claude should show you the tools it has picked up. You should see a list including things like List customers, List subscriptions and List invoices.

Seeing them means the connection is live. You do not need to know what any of them do — Claude picks the right one from the question you ask.

Step 5 — Ask something

Start a new conversation and try:

Which Recurly sites can you see?

That question needs no setup and confirms the whole chain. From there, the first five prompts are worth having open.

If something is not right

"No Recurly sites are connected to this organisation yet." The connection worked. There is just nothing behind it yet — nobody has added a Recurly site. See the quickstart.

Claude asks which site you mean. Working as intended. When an organisation has more than one Recurly site, Retrixus will not guess which one you meant — a right-looking answer from the wrong site is worse than a question. Name the site and ask again.

The tools look out of date, or something you were told about is missing. Claude remembers the tool list from when you connected. After Retrixus is updated, remove the connector and add it again to pick up the current one. Nothing is lost — it is the same five minutes.

Sign-in fails or loops. Check you are signing in with the same email you were invited with. A personal Google account and a work one look identical on the sign-in screen and are not the same to Retrixus.

An answer mentions a site you did not expect. Every Retrixus answer says which site it came from and whether that site is sandbox or production. If it names a site you did not intend, the answer is about that site — ask again and name the one you meant. More on sandbox and production.
